Carlo Guttadauro is a Photographer, an Art Director as well as a Movie Director. He received both a Philosophical and Artistic education. His personal enquiry encompasses Photography, in a Phenomenological sense, and the Visual Arts, digging into the relationships between sounds and images.
His enquiry is Experimental in nature, and stretches from Modern Visual Art to Avantgards, tracking the Transcendentality into the Immanent, dragging the Eternal from the Transitory: sometimes as if he were emancipating Forms trapped into Matter, sometimes as if he were describing Pure Appearences, and some other times as if he were creating Paintings through studies into Perspective and Exposure.
He collaborates with esteemed Firms of the Made in Italy, seeing to their Identity and Communication, and developing editorial and audio-visual projects.
He exhibited his works of art in four editions of the exhibition Fotografia Europea di Reggio Emilia: “Incanto Fluido” [Fluid Charm] (2010) inspired by the city of Venice; “Due Piazze, Tre Colori” [Two Squares, Three Colours] (2011) together with the illustrator Sonia Maria Luce Possentini at the 150th Anniversary of the Unification of Italy, at the Galleria di Arte Contemporanea De Bonis, in Reggio Emilia; “Rosso Pop” [Pop Red] (2012), a figurative project between photography and illustration; “Fili” (2012) [Strands] Food & Wine Visions, at the Enoteca Regionale dell’Emilia Romagna; “CORRISPONDENZE” (2018) [Correspondences], a photographic series of Angels.
In collaboration with the writer Gian Mario Villalta, he has conceived and edited the book “100° Cantina San Simone”. They presented it at the festival Pordenone Legge 2015.
In 2017 he won the prize “Etichetta d’Argento” at the 21st International Packaging Competition. In 2018 he has been awarded with the prize “Etichetta d’Oro” at the 22nd International Packaging Competition.
Among his short movies, “Lambrusco Behind the Glass” has been selected at the Wine Country Film Festival in California, at the International Wine film festival in California and the italian newspaper Corriere della Sera has deemed his “DZN Ca’ del Bosco” the best wine video in 2014. In 2018, his “Lambrusco, Waiting Game” has been prized at the Berlin Flash Film Festival, in the category “Experimental”.
